Reactions of Foreign Performers of Popular Music to Selected Social Issues in the 21st Century

The diploma thesis deals with the reactions of foreign performers of popular music to selected social issues in the 21st century. The diploma thesis is divided into a theoretical part, a research methodology and an empirical part. In the theoretical part, the development of popular music is described and its genres are introduced. Selected social issues of today are also theoretically explained. Qualitative analyzes and research questions are defined in the research methodology. The empirical part includes two main types of research. In the first phase, a qualitative analysis of the content of musical texts together with a qualitative analysis of foreign media content is used on musical texts from this century. In-depth interviews are conducted in the second phase of the empirical part. In the conclusion, the results of the empirical part are interpreted and summarized. The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out, through qualitative analyzes and research questions, how world celebrities from the field of popular music stand towards selected social issues of the 21st century and what impact their opinions can have on the general public. The Use Of Songs As A Didactic Tool In History Lessons

The use of music in the teaching of history brings new possibilities of working with a significant group of musical historical sources as well as modern song interpretations of historical events. This diploma thesis describes the using of songs as a didactic tool and summarizes appropriate ways and methods. Methodologically, the work is based on research using comparison, linguistic analysis and statistics. The thesis aims to summarize the possibilities of using songs in the teaching of history; how to choose appropriate songs and outline examples of what lessons look like using music. Other goals are to outline the possibilities of higher teaching efficiency using modern approaches and to open Czech history teaching to new methods and the overall use of music in history teaching, which are already used abroad. The result of the thesis is the finding that songs clearly contribute to the effectiveness of the teacher's efforts by making them more fun for the students. The fun of the lesson is connected, among other things, to the effectiveness of the teaching, and the teacher's goal is to make the teaching as effective as possible. The main content of this bachelor thesis is a dialectical analysis of a part of Jaromír Nohavica´s work to describe the influence of the Silesian dialect in his lyrics. The thesis is introduced with a summary of Nohavica´s life and work, followed by the theoretical part consisting of a description of Silesian dialectical features. The practical part contains tables with dialectical occurrences in all linguistic levels, their characterization and analysis supported by examples.
Song as a tool for learning in children with mental retardation

The thesis on Song as a tool for learning in children with mental retardation presents a view on the use of songs as a way of acquiring knowledge and skills for preschool and younger school-age children. It introduces the reader to the theoretical background of intellectual disability and gives emphasis to the specifics in learning. The work also defines the differences between special music education, music therapy, and music filetic to avoid the common misconception that often considers all work with music and people with disabilities as music therapy. Based on a literature search, this paper presents the educational potential of song, which lies mainly in the development of the child's cognitive, auditory, speech, orientation, social and emotional skills. The use of songs in creating a positive atmosphere that improves the conditions for learning also appears to be important. The experiences of several kindergarten and primary school teachers who routinely incorporate songs into children's learning are elaborated in the research. My work is dealing with the topic concerning the use of the song in the class. In the theoretical section, the author considers the teaching methods, types of exercises, connection of the song in the class with suggestopedia and the use of the song in the class where French language is taught. Then in the practical section she suggests the possibilities of the work with different songs in the class.
Contemporary Trends of Protestant Liturgical Music in the Czech Republic

anglicky The diploma thesis Contemporary Trends of Protestant Liturgical Music in the Czech Republic deals mainly with both - musical and unmusical - element of contemporary praise and worship songs used at protestant Sunday services. The aim of praise and worship music in a Sunday service, is to give praise to God, as well as it was in biblical times. Therefore the first chapter of the thesis presents observations about music in the Bible and examines its connections to non-musical ways of praising God, which throws light upon the situation today. The part of the thesis which makes the reader familiar with current situation of protestant liturgical music in the Czech Republic, points out weaknesses in present-day song writing and shows a need of musical education for Christians, who take part in performing music at Church, compose songs and translate them from other languages. There is also a notable trend of adapting hymnbook songs, which therefore become friendlier to younger generation who prefers livelier music. Development of music and movement choreography for preschool children using my own didactic tools

Master's thesis addresses the implementation of didactic tool to musical movement activities of preschool children in kindergarten with respect to the integrative nature of education. The first part of the thesis is covering theoretical side of the important aspects of child development at the age of five to six years. Further it deals with the specifics of the development of musicality in preschoolers, especially focusing on instrumental side of the music. It highlights the musical creativity that flows from the principles of Orff School. Musical creativity is one of the objective of the thesis second, practical part. Here thesis research music educational project whose main component is a methodical set Cup Song that contains suggestions for practical usage. Experiment, observation and structured interview are used as methods of research that is focused on verification of the Cup Song impact on a musical and personal development of the child.
